I have an Intel Pentium D 820 (2.80 GHZ) processor.
I ran a processor benchmarking test in SiSoft Sandra. And my processor fared less than half of what it should have... take a look.
The Red bar/sign is my processor's speed and the orange is my same processor's speed(preset in Sandra ie what it SHOULD be)

    OMG...

Either there's something seriously wrong with my processor OR the benchmarks are wrong...

Benchmarks like that are only valid if it is run on the same setup as the original benchmarks - have you set up like-for-like against your own computer specs?

What are they? ie, mobo, memory etc

Well, the software did not state the Hardware of the original benchmark. But they would most probably have taken mediocre hardware, and I have a gig of ram and a Nvidia 7300LE vid card. Thats pretty mediocre. AND, dont you think a difference of 140% is a bit too much?

If you compare your results to the ones Sandra has, they're off, so I wouldn't worry too much. Secondly, it's a synthetic benchmark, not a real-world one, so you're starting off with probability.

It's not to say it's not useful, but you don't want to put stock in the comparable results included.

But OMG...140%??? that more than double.

AND, I ran SuperPi. A guy with the same processor on NeoWin told me you should do 1M in 40-50secs. My processor managed only 1 minute 40 seconds.

    AGAIN around 140%.

    WTF???

Found out the problem, it's the temperature. CPU temp peaks around 86oc and stays aaround 78oC

Hmm...that's a bit warm, so I'd suspect a cooling issue. You also might want to make sure your heatsink is secure by pushing the 4 pins holding down the LGA775 cooler. For reference, my 920 is around 50-55*C under load (F@H on both cores) on an MSI P965 Neo-F.

Yeah but the 920 is ALOT ALOT better with thermal output than the 820. Literally, that proc is probably the hottest CPU to ever be made.
