SOF2 Troubles

Ok, i decided to sit down tonight and install Soldier of Fortune 2 after 1 year of not having played it, hoping for it to work, i was wrong!
After installing and starting the game up, i get to the menu, it let's me change Video settings etc...try to start a new game and i get This error window just after the game exits itself!
Thinking it is a problem with the sound drivers, i re-installed the latest nForce Audio drivers, still nothing. Re-installed DX 9.0c and the game, still nothing!
Installed an old Creative Vibra 128 sound card with it's latest drivers and stiiillllll the same. Even had the patience to restart the computer a couple of times :rolleyes:
Any ideas?

I would of thought that it is a damaged or missing file named "sound.txt" on the installation disc.

I have found a solution on a french website (Translated via google)

After a good moment of research, I found the solution with the problem. I post it for the people who would have the same problem.

1) You take Clone Cd

2) You take Iso Buster Cd

3) You make an image of two CD of Soldier of fortune with Clone Cd, then you explore the images with IsoBuster (the two software has one period of tests) in the first image as in the second isobuster=>selectionner image (IMG) of Cd = > sofii_2 = > Setup = > bases = > and you replace all the pk3 files by those posted in IsoBuster

PS: I had a light problem by remplacant the file textures1234.pk3 thus first of all to try to replace all the pk3 files except textures1234.pk3 then if its does not go to replace it all the same :D

Weak easy way: while remplacant that the pk3 files first CD you will be able to play sof2 but without texture (All is in traced black of white line)


I hope that this station will be used to certain person :D

Got the problem solved by copying the musicandsound.pk3 file from the CD into the base folder!
