Some laptop help :/

Hi there everyone :)

Having some major problems with my laptop. I was using it last week, and got the dreaded "Blue Screen" show with the following error:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP 0x00000001 (0xBF986924, 0x000000F, 0x0000000, 0xBF986924)

After this error popped up, i restarted my laptop. After the restart, the screen stayed blank, no bios, no windows information etc...

The strange thing is, it will very occasionally boot up properly and display everything as normal for a short time, then i will get a blue screen with the same error and will be back to square one.

I've no idea if it's a graphics card error, mainboard problems or what...I took it to my university's workshop and they told me to send it back to the manufacturer, but my warrenty ran out in January and they dont want anything to do with the problem :swear:

Any help would be great :)
 
What laptop have you got and what are the specs?

If you know what to do, try and re-sit the memory modules and see if that helps.
 
One of your hardware drivers is malfunctioning.

Have you upgraded/reinstalled any drivers recently?
 
searched on the net and comes out with so many solutions....Highlightning those which I felt good........

1. It can be the RAM's problem. If you have two sticks then use one to see which one is not working.

2. Drivers Update as megamaced suggested can be the reason.

3. Flash BIOS solved the problem for some but as you said your computer not even boot up so this is not for you.

4. Hardware failure: take out all the expansion cards and restart the sys and check if u get the error.if it doesnt come up...start putting the expansion card one by one and after putting one card restart the sys and check if u get the error.
if u get the error on any of the card.then check the card on another slot ...if it still has the problem then there could be a problem with that expansion card

5. check your HEAT SINK FAN, working or not?

6. Some had this problem due to Bad Network Card.
 
Thanks ever so much for spending time searching the net, Karanislove :)

I tested the RAM sticks individually, and so far, it looks like it is a RAM problem. It has booted up and everything is running as normal so far. Will have to give it some more extensive testing, but looks good so far.
