Several months ago I updated my PC quite a lot. I got a new motherboard, new RAM and new Processor. The sound card came with the motherboard. The motherboard I have is the "DFI 790FX-M2R" It's Lanparty and also part of the AMD 790FX Chipset... Anyway, as soon as I put it all together etc and it's definatly all connected up correctly, the PC worked fine and was fast but never managed to get sound. Thier is something that you will need to know and that is, I actually got the wrong socketed Processor the first time and tried to force it in which bent some of the pins. But either way, not many of them and a few got bent back straight and others really werent bent that badly and it slotted in nicely to the new motherboard I got. I knew that this may arise problems and the processor may screw up very quickly but that wasnt a big concern, but no matter what I try I cannot get sound. I made a post a while ago and I have tried so many things, I've even got my friend round who is great with PC's and he had no idea. Iv tried BIOS, hardware options, re-connecting components, everything suggested to me. The strange thing was is that if i went to the realtek sound control panal and did the "test" stuff, sound was clearly coming out. But it didnt work anywhere else, I tried going to the hardware options in the Device Manager and doing the disable, install drivers, I tried installing the drivers from the websites as well. I try disable and enable the driver, update, roll back etc ... non of this works. When I disable the driver it just gives a cross and when I enable the driver it gives a yellow circle with an > ! < in the middle of it. In device status it says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" When I click driver details it tells me that no driver files are required of have been loaded to this device. If i go to details, at the moment the device is set as "Device instance ld" and thier is like a whole list of other things, but this is the defualt one. When i first installed this sound car it actually didnt have any yellow warning or anything but I was told to try and un-install the sound card and then re install it and then it began to come up. What im really wandering is if it is the damaged processor that is causing these problems? Im open to ANY suggestion on how to fix this ! Download TweakUI , Next click on General.....now make sure that BEEP on ERRORS is checked...REBOOT....
