    Hi All,

I've searched and searched, and was hoping someone might know the answer to the dilemna.

    THE ISSUE
On my PC, the sound works great until I plug in my web cam. After a minute or two, it has static. If I pull the webcam and restart, back to good sound.

    THE DETAILS
Gigabyte MB with onboard sound card (AC'97) currently disabled in the BIOS.
    Windows MCE 2005
Diamond XtremeSound 7.1 DDL (XS71DDL) with Optical out to my Sony reciever.
    Nvidia PureVideo Decoder
No TV Tuner Card (although if I plug an old one in, I get the issue).
    Logitech Quickfusion webcam

    MY THEORY
The sound card doesn't like any other audio equipment connected to the machine at the same time. If I plug in my webcam, or install my TV Tuner Card (WinTV-PVR-250), the sound has a lot of static.

    THE SOLUTION
None as of yet. Thats where I was looking for help from the kind folk here.

    Thanks!

Check in your event viewer what kind of application/system errors you are getting. That can provide some help in locating the problem.

Go to the Windows Control Panel > Performance & Maintenance > Adminstrative Tools > Event Viewer

Or if you are using the Classic look control panel, go to:

Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Event Viewer

Report any errors that you see
