Spending To Much!?

Are you lot the same, or is it just me who's always skint....

I get about £800 a month, not alot, infact its f**k all, however its great work experience that i am very lucky to have at my age.. and is worth working low wage for :D + I love it..

anyhow i don't pay any bills, just spend it on whatever i like.. really however i seem to spend it every month..

Have to have the latest gadgets ie: ipod, mobile, laptop, pda, movies, and espeically clothes... omg clothes, Henri Lloyd jacket i just brought... £155 :/ lol

Think i need to get out of this habbit of spending!

I've already planned what im getting next month, xmas pressies:

7.1 Surround Sound
New Graphics Card
 
people say I'm silly spending all the money, why don't i save it..

well cos i realise however much i save i will always at some point be strapped for cash, so i might as well enjoy it whilst i can.. :D

and i make sure what i buy will last me in terms of technology and quality e.t.c
 
I get...hmm..well NOTHING. I get 20 bucks a week. That's supposed to cover lunch, and riding the bus around to get places. What's left over I get to...well..usually there's nothing left over. So be glad!
 
I'm on £5 a week and £10 at the end of the month. I had a job at my local pier, which has now closed for the Winter. On a good week, ie like Half Term or Summer Holiday week, I'd be earning around 200 quid. Long hard hours for making ice cream 8 hours a day...

Fortunately I got 200 quid's holiday pay to last me until next year, all of which is going in to my University Bank account, so as when I get there in 3-4 years I'll hopefully have a couple grand.

Oh yeah, double time on bank holidays...£9.80 an hour for making ice cream!
 
I'd like to work and get some oney but just nowhere to work. Thing is theres no minimum wage for under 16s and since i can't prove any skills i have without GCSEs or any A+ qualifications i can't work as a PC help dude in a shop. I'm going to have a go at A+ because I've heard you can take the exam at 13 so i'll start soon. As for the dishwasher thats just a chore.
 
If I didn't have to pay on stuff like my car loan, and other fun bills, I'd probably be blowing it more on computer stuff, or possibly investing in something. As it is, I'm having to budget for that stuff. It does suck, but, a lot of what I'm paying on now will be history within about 2 years.

Child labor laws come into play, but yeah, I remember how getting any job with decent pay pretty much sucks unless you're 18. Even then, don't think it's guaranteed.
 
Does £4.90 an hour qualify as good pay?

The minimum wage for an 18 year old in UK is like £5.00, I think, so I'm doing pretty good, I would say.

Ya know, NF, you know a lot - use it. You are of an age allowed to do some occasional kinds work... baby sitting and lawn mowing... and occasional computer assistance to the over 40 crowd could pay better than minimum wage.

You might try passing the word (or putting up a notice) at the local retirement place - that you are available to help with residents' computer problems. Most of their problems you could probably solve in less than 20 min.

Getting email running for someone results in large amounts of gratitude. $10.00 hr. (with a minimum charge of 1 hr) would be considered CHEAP!!

Having worked with seniors, I have some ideas if you decide to try it.
 
I'm starting to charge to work on my mom's spyware infested computer :) so far, I've earned $5 for plugging in a printer, and clicking print!
