startup problems with internet!

    seems as though it decides to open a web page when starting up windows, some sort of searchbar in the explorer window on this webpage, but im not connected to the internet, any idea of how 2 unistall it?

    possibly spyware, but not of my fault :mad:

    have you looked at the add/remove programs list on the control panel to see if theres a search bar installed?

    whats the search bar called?

    First off, you can use Edit, rather than making a separate reply :p

    Second off, download firefox the browser. Get it here: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

    You will never get a dodgy spyware related search bar again, nor any other problems.

    Check our Downloads section for anti spyware tools, run them and remove anything. Try the microsoft spyware program aswell.

    Q: How can I remove spyware from my system and keep it from coming back?

    A: A great tool for both removing & protecting against spyware is the freeware application Spybot Search & Destroy. Like the name suggests, its primary function is to clean your system of undesirable spyware/adware. It also has a feature that allows you to immunize your system against future infections of several thousand different individual types of spyware. Lavasoft's Adaware also makes an excellent companion to Spybot S&D. Between the both of them, they can remove most spyware with a fair degree of success.

    ...I'm going to disagree with my own suggestion here and recommend to install AdawareSE first, followed by Spybot S&D. Adaware seems a little more resiliant to hostile spyware that will try and remove your spware-removal tools.

    its not a searchbar its a searchbar on a page on mictosoft explorer, which loads when i restart my pc! i cant seem to find a way to uninstall it although it keeps setting mmy homepage as blank. but that is the homepage!

    Yup, thats spyware for you.

    Do the aforementioned scans, and you should be ok.

    and get firefox already!! :p
