    Hi see the attached photo.

The PC does this stop error when I convert divx files (Divx Converter). It sometimes does it when watching a movie for about 30mins or so, it seems to be doing it only when pc is busy.

    I dont have new hardware.

    Thanks, any help appreciated.

    Hi,

Have you checked the event log to see if it shows any errors at about the times this happened? Also, I would run a checkdisk and it may be worth running a memory test because while you haven't added any new hardware, maybe something is starting to go bad.:O

PC crashed again when doing 3 tasks at once, had divx converter running (pc only crashes when using this) and playing a divx file plus messin around in power director, then the stop-screen appeared.

pc crashed at 21:19 and immediately after windows booted I went into event viewer and saw this *see pic*

it shows that live update was the last thing to "load" I cant see liveupdate causing all the stop-crashes in the past to be honest

    Hi,

From this screenshot, it looks like you checked the application event log, and everything looks ok. I do not see any errors or warnings, only information events which are fine. Try looking under the system catagory instead of application and see if there are any warnings or errors. If you find an error, double click it and it will give you more information about what happened. Errors will have a red octogon symbol instead of the circle with the I in it to the left, and the warnings display next to a yellow triangle.

Is it the same STOP error when the system crashes or different ones?

This may help you as a TEMPORARY fix, Right click my computer>properties>advanced>startup and recovery> uncheck all (3) boxes under system failure, then select the dropdown menu under "write debug information", click (none).
Click "ok", you return to the system properties box. On the botton click "error reporting"> Select the "disable error reporting option.>click "ok"
    -Close all dialogue boxes-
Go to "start">search> all files/folders> type in minidump.sys, (it is a file not a folder) delete it. [If the search does not come up with any minidump file, thats alright, you can ignore it, as long as the other steps are cpomleted]>Close all open windows.
This should fix your problem. However, it sounds like your RAM is bad. Like I said, this should be a temporary fix, but there is no gurantee that it will work. I don't know what side effects it will have on your system as far as stability goes, if its worst (or if it has no effect), just go back through the steps in reverse and everything should be back to normal, (the minidump file you deleted will automatically be re-created if you reverse the steps above.) good luck.
