I have just purchased the following:

Motherboard: Asus Z8PE-D18 (two CPU slots, 18 memory slots)
    CPU: Intel Xeon 5680
together with 8 RAM modules and a mid-range graphics card. When I first put everything together I got an error at boot stating:

The following DIMM module(s) did not pass CPU memory test.
Please remove the module(s) then plug again.
    DIMM_C1 Disabled
    DIMM_C2 Disabled

I immediately assumed that the two RAM modules were the culprits, but moving the memory around (swapping between different slots) I always got the error on these two slots. I then came to the conclusion that something was wrong with the motherboard, so I returned it for a replacement. Today I received the new motherboard, I put everything together and, lo and behold, I get the same error message.

I'm really in need of some advice. Could there be something wrong with the CPU? What else could be causing this error?
