To start off i'll post the specs: -

MSI P35 NEO 2 SKT 775 P35 chipset based Mobo
Generic 650w PSU (32A single on the +12v rail)
    Core 2 duo e4300
    2 x 1024mb Patriot LL memory (4T timings @ 2.2V)
    ATI Radeon X1950 PRO 256mb PCI-E
    1 X PATA Pioneer DVD RW 111-L
    1 X PATA Maxtor 120GB 8 MB CACHE 7200RPM
    1 X SATA Hitachi Deskstar 500GB 16MB CACHE 7200RPM

The problem is, when i cut off all power by unplugging all cables from the power source for over 30 mins, and then power on the computer, it shuts down after 3-4 seconds, then automatically restarts as if nothing ever happened :(

If i leave the computer plugged into the wall powered off (PSU switch on), this problem does not occur.

When i use my old motherboard (Asrock 4core Dual VSTA), i do not get such a problem.

I have tried using my old psu (550W generic with 28A on +12v rail) and it has the same symptoms.

I RMA'D a gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherboard due to this problem, and it has been replaced with this MSI NEO2 motherboard.

Is this a P35C chipset self-check?? I have never encountered such an issue before in any system build i have had before, the system is at stock clocks, no overvolts, and the +12v, +5v and +3v check out ok and are stable.

I just dont understand the issue, can anyone enlighten me on this?

Edit: - Intel TAT reports 52 Degrees C at 100% load on core 1, 51 on core 2, and i am using an Arctic freezer 7 pro cooler at max fan RPM (2700RPM)

May as well close this thread, I have figured it out to be a bug in the intel p35chipset known as a double boot.

Thanks anyways :) hope my fedback in the other topic helped someone.
