Im not looking for help with this problem, I just want to know if its ever happened to anyone else. I'm fairly sure its unfixable. A couple of days ago I started getting I/O errors when I tried to burn dvds, then when I put them in the computer it would recognize them as music cds. I tried changing several settings and burning a couple more, but they kept coming out like that. Then I noticed that one of my dvds I had just tried to burn had a dead bug on its surface, and I started thinking that maybe some insects had gotten into my burnable media.so I checked the others... they were fine. The next time I tried to burn a dvd it came out with 2 dead bugs (really small, like gnats) pressed on to the cd, one on each side. So I put 2 and 2 together, opened up my dvd drive and found a small colony of gnats living inside it. I have never heard of, or seen anything like this. Has anyone else?

I bet it was a Matrox!

Only joking... it sounds like something out of a bad B-Movie:
"The gnats burner" Staring wompshmak and the bionic gnats.
    :p
