Total Anihilation was the first PC game (and in fact any videogame) that i ever really played for a long time, infact i played it for almost 7 years! And if i could i would play it now and still be quite happy to not move for five hours! Anyway times are changing and now we find ourselves in the time that the Spiritual successor to TA is going to arrive, of course that game is Supreme Commander. I am really looking forward to this game and it is the reason that i am getting a new computer, the idea of a massively 'beefed-up' version of TA with online play is an amazing thought for me. I have seen plenty of video's and reviews etc, and i can't wait to send a troop of 'SpiderBot' 'Monkey Kings' into an enemy base! So then are you getting it, have you been lucky enough to have been on the beta test online? Is it any good?
Yeah, I'm getting it. It looks really awsome and I hope it is as good or better than TA. I'm really psyched for this game. I did not get in on the beta but people who did said it still needed some work so lets hope it all gets ironed out.
I am sure that even if this game has flaws it will still be amazing! Even if it was exactly the same as Total Anihilation but with online play and the massive scale the battles are on i would still love it, i used to love the bigger maps on TA and the fact you could see on the map that the enemy was attacking but still know that you had time to prepare due to the size of the battleground, but ten years have passed since TA so i can barely dare to dream of what they can do on a modern computer! I am currently looking for a job and what better motivation could there be than to know that when i find a job i can get a new computer and play Supreme Commander! Not only that but i am going to be getting a PC built for the game!
