I finally did it. I done got me an LCD HDTV. We have these Sylvania units for $699.99 at the sale price at my work. Then I get my employee discount that takes off another $70. With tax, I paid $667 and some change. I haven't cracked it open, but I plan to later this week when I get settled in. I am going to hook one of my boxes up to it just to see how it looks. No doubt, I'm gonna have to give it a shot for gaming too. :chk: I am glad I got an LCD. As it is, still in the packaging, it's only 36lbs. I think a 32" CRT is probably 90-100lb itself. Right now, it's at home, but it'll make it's way to my apartment in a few days. I'll have to pick up a DVD player later, but I can do it on the weekend. I will say this: from the display models, it looks pretty good. I haven't thought of Sylvania much, but they don't seem to bad. They just don't come to mind when you think of TV's. Anyway, I think I'm done dropping large amounts of cash for awhile. That and I have some furniture to assemble.
I actually bought a projection sylvania 32 inch 4:3 over the Thanksgiving holiday. Its worked great, cool tv. and yes, it weighs a ton. I would definitely buy another Sylvania.
