SYSTEM TO USE FOR OCing !?!?!?!

I'm trying to build a computor cheap for around £400.00, and use it for overclocking, and basicaly learning how to make a pc... unfortunatly i can't use mine and my girlfriends computor for OCing just incase i screw up... as i'll need to fine somewhere new to live :( !

I keep on looking at MoBo and Processors and getting more confused, could someone help recomend me a forgiving system thats easy to use and good OCing BIOS!

I've heard some mixed revews about the nFORCE 650i utra MoBo i don't know what you think of it!?!?!

The processor is another Intresting thing....

should i buy something like Pentium DualCore E2160 which is a cheap £50.00. and try and OC. It's factory setting is 1.8GHz >>> what could i get out of it??

OR should i spend closer to a £100 and get something like below???

Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz
OR
Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz

I have an older 939 Asus mother board. it's the A8Nsli delux series. It overclocks well and Ai booster is real easy to use. Just remember when you do make a choice you may want to get a nice cooling device to enable this overclocking you would like to do! Have fun! Over Clock!
 
The E2160 overlcocks very well, up to 3.4ghz with thrid party cooling, I have it, you should get a core 2 duo though because they have more cache (like an E6550)
 
I agree. A Pentium E2xxx would be a good budget overclocker.

As far as a box, yes, you can do it (with quality parts) for what you're looking at, but I don't think you'll be able to do it if you need an extra monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I added a 3rd-party cooler because the fan that comes with the E2160 isn't that impressive for overclocking. I'm planning to replace mine ASAP. In any case, the E2160 seems to do 3GHz on a bad day, so while there's no guarantees for overclocking, you should do fairly well with one of these bad boys. The abit IP35 series seems to be pretty sweet, but you may opt for a Gigabyte P35.

As far as the nForce 650i goes, I don't know. I haven't had problems with my Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4L, but you'll find out later (I'm reviewing it---yes, there will be content on HWF this year). I've been happy with nForce chipsets myself, and I've had something from just about every line, save the 500 series.
