Linux Forums has an article for the newbies wanting to know more about Ubuntu, SLED, Linspire and DSL. note: Why it includes DSL, I don't know, but it goes fairly deep compared to a lot of crappy "why not use linux" articles out there. I suppose it is one of the best options for really old hardware. Enjoy, Ken
Yeah, that's a good artical. [ot]I can't stand DSL and Fluxbox. I don't understand why DSL has created such a buzz either. Other then system recovery, what else is it good for? Nothing. Got an old computer? Install Ubuntu or Mandriva with WindowMaker [/ot]
It can run on a system without a hard drive. If that is important to the user, then it is useful. It is made to be compact, fast and scalable. I don't personally have a need for it, but I commend DSL for being different.
