Temperature Increase!

Hey guys, my cpu idles at about 36 degrees, and I played HL2 for a couple hours and I quit and looked at my temp. It was 50 when I first looked, and I didn't think that the temperature should increase that much even under load, should it? I got the temperature off AI Booster, so maybe its not very accurate, but its seems to be a big difference. Its a AMD 3700 and slightly overclocked with stock cooling. I'm not too worried cause I was planning on buying aftermarket cooling next week sometime, but I would like to know what might be goin on.

well mine idle about the same as yours, anywhere from 32-36*C (depending on room temp) but mine only gets up to 42-44* after a good couple hours of BF2 or Fear, but mines not Oclocked so your temps look alright to me, what kinda temps do you get when your not overclocked. I also get my temps from A.I. Booster and Asus Probe.
Also what do you have it overclocked to

THose temperature's are good temperatures for stock cooling with a slight overclock, I love the Arctic Cooling Freezer Series but others have other things to say, get a wide range of possible coolers and then read reviews on them etc...
 
I went down to a great custom computer shop and picked up a CoolerMaster Hyper 6+. It looks awesome and I hope it will fit! but I am not looking forward to installing it, I think it'll be hard and I've never taken a mobo out before. But, I know that this is the place to come for help if I need it. Could someone tell me how long this might take me, should I save this project for a weekend when I have some extra time. I usually only have a couple hours of spare time during the week and I'd want to install this in one sitting.
 
If I were you and wasn't very confident (no offense) I'd leave it until the weekend in case anything does go wrong, it shouldn't take too long if you've done it before but if you havent then leave it until you have enough time to overcome any problems you may have (shouldn't have any, it's fairly straightforward)
