Now, I don't particularly understand the American political parties, but what brought me to this conclusion was this post: http://shelleytherepublican.com/2006/04/linux-european-threat-to-our-computers.html

That is just one of the amazingly idiotic posts made on that site. At first I thought it was a joke, I didn't want to take it too seriously. But then I read the rest of the blog, and I'm wondering whether to laugh or cry.

Read it for yourself, but careful. Don't let it poison your mind. I' not sure whether its sharp satire or not.

Like most things that are worth owning, Computers are an American invention.

No offence to any Americans but most things I have worth owning are japanese/taiwanese/chinese inventions.

It runs software built by Microsoft, one of America's most productive organizations.

Thats debateable

Unlike Windows, which is a mature commercial product which is normally included with every new computer, Linux is given away.

And thats becauuuse?

Linux is so pervasive amongst the blue states and many liberal universities that a leading computer expert Steve Balmer (from Microsoft) described Linux as cancer.

Imagine if the State of the Union address were hacked because the TV station decided to save money by using Linux?

Does she not realise it would be more easily hacked using Windows

And guess what software Osama Bin Laden uses on his laptop?

If you guessed it was Linux you would be 100% right. Osama uses Linux because he knows designed to counterfit DVDs, curcumventing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and defraud companies like Disney.

More than likely and assumption about Bin laden and oh no it isnt possible to copy dvds without Linux!!

If one of your friends is using Linux or may be tempted to try it show them this article. Explain that Linux is a genuine threat and that by using it they may be opening their computer to Chinese hackers.

I don't think so AT. At first it was satire, then when you read abot this person and actually the whole blog you realise that they are just ignorant.

Well I showed this to my roommate and he brings up a point: why would it sell satire-free merchandise if it's satire?
