New and improved (not really), it's the "what is your primary distro" poll.

I used to use a LFS install but got sick of Linux and deleted it.
Im using Ubuntu quite a bit lately. The only thing is my graphics card doesnt work properly. I cant even play DVDs.
I think I might try another LFS soon now ive played with some of the software in Ubuntu. I didnt really know what was out there until I got Ubuntu. (free through the post :) It was like christmas )

Second computer = SUSE 10.0 + Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS
Laptop = Xubuntu 6.10

You forgot to add Debian! Don't worry, i've added it (and some others) for you :)

I'm hooked on Ubuntu at the moment - a cracking, slick distro. I also use Mandriva.

For linux I like slackware and it's derivatives. Vector linux is a great one and so is zenwalk. Since I am currently off linux for now, I voted for *BSD.

BTW, vector linux will be releasing 5.8 very soon. Its a slick, XFCE slackware based distro that is VERY fast. I used vector for about 6 months and I liked it but ultimately I didn't care for slackware package management and gslapt. Zenwalk 3.0 (also XFCE based) has good reviews also. Both are recommended if your skill level is basic to intermediate. By basic I mean above complete n00b.

Debian for me, I've grown to love the package manager despite my initial dislike of it. Although I use Kubuntu on my laptop, I have a Debian server and a powerful desktop as well (my computer specs).

I'm using Kubuntu Dapper - it's freakin' awesome, especially with XGL and Beryl :D

I tried sabayon a week ago and it was awesome! I think of it more as a toy but it's loads of fun. Since I don't have access to xorg 7.x, I will be trying out 3D-desktop (been around for a few years) when I have some free time.

Debian with KDE and a small helping from Gnome (Synaptic and a few others...)
However, so far, from all the distros I have checked, next after Debian will be Mandriva.

• Primary desktop - Debian "Etch", without a trace of Gnome installed. :)
• Wife's desktop - Mandrake 10.1 ...she's had the same install for years.
• Primary Server - CentOS 4.4
• Web Server - CentOS 4.4
• Firewall - IPCop 1.4.11

• Laptop: Dual boot - Windows xp and Mandriva 2007
• Test computer 1: Windows 2000 Pro
• Test computer 2: FreeBSD 6.0 (Test server)
• Test computer 3: FreeBSD 6.0 (Test client to test computer 2)

Yeah, that's how I roll.
Post script: I am currently downloading CentOS 4.4 to install on "test computer 1."
