Well, I have waited for this day for a while, and it has finally arrived. We have stats on the new ATIs. I haven't been able to find them for sale, but it can't be far. Ok, on to the cards. They are the X1K series, comprised of the X1300, X1600, and X1800. The stats for the X1800 XL are as follows: 1 GHz Core speed 500 MHz Memory clock 321 million transistors in a 90nm process "Ultra-Threading" (I think this might be primarily a gimick, but ok) 16 pixel shaders and 8 vertex shaders 256 bit 8-channel GDDR3/GDDR4 Ok, so we don't have specific model specs, but thats in general. I won't post the rest of the specs for the X1800 XL or the ones for the other cards because you can find them atati.com. Here is a picture of the X1800. It is, of course, Crossfire compatable. It also comes with something called AVIVO. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm gonna take a wild guess ( ) and say it is a play off of VIVO. Well that's all I have to say about it.
hmm, the only better things look like gddr4 memory, transistor count, vertex shaders, ultra threading, but what the hell! lower clock speeds than X800XT
More pipes would be nice but otherwise very nice offerings, should stack up nicely but won't blow our socks off, at least for the price.
Willhub, what do we all know about clock speeds? That's right, sometimes lower is better (AHEM! AMD?). Well But I don't know what its gonna cost so yea.
I don't care really, its the performance that counts. Benchmarks are available anyway, so trying to estimate performance isn't needed.
Good point Addis. When they actually hit the market and people can get their hands on them we will see what they can do.
