Ok so I'm new to all this computer customization stuff, so I need help with compatibility for my laptop. I found this on ebay: SAMSUNG 1GB DDR2 SODIMM PC2 4200 4300 533Mhz 533 1 GB on eBay Memory, Desktop PC Components, Computing while trying for find a cheaper option for the "compatible" RAM on the Toshiba website. So this: Satellite L30-101 is my Laptop, can anybody see any reason why the RAM in question would not work with it, other than the fact it is so cheap it will probably break on sight Thanks in advance
we need more info on the RAM currently installed in the laptop, check out PCWizard, use it to diagnose the current type, speed & CAS Latency of your of the existing RAM
well, it seems that you have 512mb installed on stock and that would make a smaller differance about performance but will decrease setup times about %20 the main problem is your celeron m cpu changing it with a centrino m will make a clear upgrade of perf. but will decrease battery life with the standard 6 cell battery you must change it with a compatible 10 or 12 cell battery too. maybe buying a new notebook will be cheaper as generally concerned with the new vista os and softwares, also a brand new conroe cpu and a dx10 (hd2300m or 8400gt) gpu start saving money i will simply say
Well thanks for the help, but I guess my best option is not to bother anyway:doh:. Oh well, maybe I'll just get a 4GB pen drive for a ReadyBoost speed increase.
well another choice for you take your 512mb and count it at second hand and buy a new 1gb one stick ddr2 533 ram but i say again if you are not planning to use this notebook too much than it will be dead meat
