I download Opera last night, just out of curiosity, and really liked it - particularly the integrated mail program. Does anyone have an opinion as to how it measures up to the likes of IE & Firefox for web browsing efficiency & capability? Dave.
opera is pretty good, i think FF for win also has a built in email client (but not sure) opera slightly has the edge over FF, in term of browsing speed but both are left behind, when you throw IE into the equasion (on win, cos OS has being optimized for faster IE, i presume) but don´t know about running IE on wine, for all i know IE could be finale stable, & don´t know how performance is affected by running IE on wine
I've tried lots of browsers: IE, Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Maxthon, Flock, But for me the top two are Firefox and Opera. I prefer Firefox but I can't place my finger on the reason why, Opera is a great browser and like everyone says it is really fast. For me Firefox just wins, the auto-updates are useful and the amount of customisation available is awesome!
I dont know why but sometimes I cannot upload files through FF then what I do is use Opera. Other than that I always use FF.
I tried Opera briefly, I liked it, reminded me of FF, I just didn't want to make the change. One thing is all the plugins there are for FF, and plus it's more compatible with things. Granted, IE is compatible with, like, everything, but it's dead to me.
Opera is the best browser i have ever used so far. The features of opera are still dreams for IE. Very successful.
I like any browser isn't IE because i remember having so much spyware and adware just from opening up IE. i hate that browser with a passion. I use FF now just because it was the first thing i used after IE. I liked opera and the fact that it remembers your last webpage. Totally useful if the program crashes and you were on a page with a superlong, or if you forgot to bookmark. I haven't switched to opera out of laziness.
Looks like Opera is quiet popular then. Pity about the absence of HTML though - maybe it will be introduced in a later version.
