Touchpad problems

Hello everyone ! i have a very anoying problem with my acer aspire 9500 laptop and i could really use ure help. I have the laptop for a couple of months now without any problems. Like a week ago i noticed my touchpad doesnt work anymore ( i usually use a mouse ). The wierd thing is that if i enable + disable the Synaptic touchpad it works again for about 5 seconds and it dies again. I have the little touchpad monitor icon on the desktop and it just gets stuck on the last thing i was doing. ( the touchpad also activates if i go to control pannel / mouse and then hit cancel. same thing.. after 5 sec it dies) I tried everything, i reinstalled windows xp, reinstalled acer bundle drivers, got newest drivers of the net, looked for troubleshooting on their main site and nothing.
I could really use some help. I think its a software problem cause the touchpad works fine in those 5 seconds.

go to device manager and under mouse, select your mouse > right click > unistall. Then, in Action, select look for Hardware Changes. If you have any other mouse uninstall it as well.

If you want to remove that mouse icon from the desktop then go to Control Panel > accessiblity option, select mouse tab (uncheck if your mouse keys are on there) > settings > unclick show mouse click status on screen.
