trying to install 5.2.1-RELEASE on a new system. got the os installed, but it is running slow as all hell... no additional software was installed. when i shut down i get something like syncing disks: 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6... giving up 6 buffers when it comes up, it is of course marked unclean. I had this same problem when tryint to boot into the sysintstall off of the floppies. I flashed my RocketRaid 1640 to the newest bios, and then the problem stopped happening... The driver freebsd is using for my raid is the same as the driver i used when i did the install (via floppies/ftp)... What does one do from here?
I could be wrong, but I think all these random problems I've been having relate to this one: Kernel thinks I have 2 cpu's?
I'm not sure if FreeBSD has to use a multi-CPU kernel to utilize the HyperThreading capabilities or not, mainly because I haven't really followed *BSD at all. Are you running RAID 0 or RAID 1?
