Well now that reviews are out you'll probably be better trying it out before you buy. Some people liked it, others hated it, see what you think:

    I realize that's the PS2 version but I couldn't find it for PC:confused:
The consumers have wildly different opinions however:

IGN seems to enjoy the game more so than gamespot, by a lot actually:

Hope this helps with you're decision.

Yeah I guess the scale of the game was a little too much, some games are optimized a lot better, like God of War which looks awesome and runs at 60fps. Other than the lagginess was it a decent game though?

I don't know but I would imagine it is, like the origional. I think it looks a lot better than the first which I frankly hate now that I've played SanAndreas and have less tolerance for wannabees but the trailer looked good anyway.

san andreas is alot, alot smaller than both of the true crime series, but no matter how big the citys in true crime games are, it just doesent make it better than GTA games, even though it would be ace if gta sa was as big as true crime streets of la or new york, there just seems to be somthing missing in the true crime games, i dont know what, with true crime streets of la, there just seemed to be an emptyness about it, just dident feel right, and then new york, has taken a turn for the worse now i think, the graphics are worse than la, exept for the roads, roads look really really good, too laggy, the graphics are really choppy, even worse than san andreas graphics!

Wow, not good, as I thought LA was a real mixed bag, good character models surrounded by low polly, low res, muddied texture ridden enviroments and cars with a ton of the same people spouting identical and annoying lines at you as you plodded around. Fighting is very repetitive and takes just about no skill, shooting is awkward and driving is plagued by lousey handling and control. It was big alright but just not that fun to me at least.
