updated yesterday and didnt notice the nvidia driver at the bottom anyway cant get into linux now cos the driver is buggered how do i go back to the pre-updated nvidia driver.
Have you tried reconfiguring the xserver (or Xorg?)? Can you actualy start Linux and log in, even just to command line? If you can, try the following line - 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86' I think you might need to be root. I have buggered the xserver a number of times and this worked for me....
Do Code: dpkg-reconfigure --xserver-xorg and choose a generic video driver like "nv". Alternatively, you could just edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and find the section about your screen driver change the line Driver "nvidia" to Driver "nv". That will do the same thing and be a lot quicker.
thing is i changed it awhile ago to the nvidia driver and it was fine but updated it and it screwed it up.
no i just did the updates when u turn it on and says updates ready for the system. still on the same thing just updates a few programs
