Upgrade a Thinkpad i series 1400

    I have an older thinkpad, and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the
    motherboard, HD etc.?

    No its not possible to upgrade the motherboard. You can however replace the hard drive, as there's usually a bay udnerneath where you unscrew it and take it out. You can't upgrade the CPU either, although sometimes it is possible to upgrade RAM.
