Upgrading Plan

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my computer. And I'm an average gamer.

The Department stores in my city has only few available products of Graphics Cards to choose from. And my choices are NVIDIA 8500GT 512mb and ATI X1650 512mb which are almost the same of the price in my country. Which of these two cards is better?? Need some opinions here.

But I have a little problem, I already have the 8500GT 512mb which I bought last 5 months. Should I double my 8500GT with SLI to double the performance? Will it be doubled? Will I see a huge performance boost for using SLI? If no, should I stick with my 8500GT and wait for 8800 or better in my city?

Definately dont go for the x1650. If you've already got an 8500GT, you can put the card in sli IF you have got the motherboard to support it. What is the make and model of your motherboard?

I have ASUS M2V but I've already sold it to someone. That's why I'm confused weather to buy another 8500GT and a motherboard with SLI support or stick with my single 8500GT and wait for a more powerful card in my city? I will be using it for gaming and hoping that my decision may catch up for the future games.

OK. Well, the 8500GT is FAR from being a good card. It's almost a paper weight actually. If it has been working for the games you hav been playing then you might want to consider picking up a mobo with a 680i chipset and SLIing another 8500GT into your rigg. Personally, though, I wouldn't waste the money. I would pick up a p35 mobo and get a single 8800GT 256. You will get more performance out of a single 8800GT 256MB than you would out of two SLI'd 8500s. If you want to spend jsut a bit more, you can even jump up to the 8800GT 512MB, but I doubt you'll need it.
