I live in Moscow and have recently bought an Acer Veriton N281G. The dealer installed Windows Home Basic for me and then "upgraded" to Windows Ultimate so that I could work in English. The machine is so so slow. I am showing a Windows System Efficiency score of 2.6, apparently due to the processor being 1.8GHz. The RAM is only 1GB but shows a score of 4.5.
Is it possible to upgrade the processor? Is it difficult/expensive/worth doing? If I upgrade RAM to 2 or 4 GB would I notice an increase in speed or would this "slow" processor hold me back?
Sorry for so many questions. Thanks, in advance, for any help. Much appreciated.

Is this a dual core or single ? You can go up to 4 gigs of ram, But The CPU might be on of those which is soldered to the motherboard, In that case it is not upgradeable.
