Hey all, I'm new to the forums so I hope this is the right category.

I'm thinking of buying a HP G71-329WM Notebook. It's a cheapy from walmart. The price just seems right ;)

Based on the product specs, it has a 2.20 GHz Intel Celeron processor 900.

I used Intel's Processor Spec Finder to look up the Celeron 900. This one has a Micro-FCPGA interface.

I'd like to take advantage of a great price like this but I'd like to build it up later. My question:

Will any other processor with a Micro-FCPGA interface work in place of the Celeron 900?

A little more digging with Processor Spec Finder shows an Intel Core 2 Extreme Mobile Processor that get's up to 3.06 GHz with the same Micro-FCPGA interface.

I know there are cooling considerations as well but if anyone can tell me what the likelihood of success is with an upgrade like this I sure would feel better about the buy.

    Thanks in advance you guys,

    TT
