Upgrading to dx10 gpu

Im thinkin about getting an 8800 gtx 768... the price range just broke to reasonable but this is my plight.... the last time I upgraded was from a ati x800 pro to nvidias 7950 GX2, but 4 months after i dropped 500 on that card the 8800 series was unleased... my question is should i upgrade now or is there a next gen card worth waiting for??? help! :(
 
I would wait and get a dx10 card when dx10 games are mainstream. In other words, wait till there are a lot of dx10 games then get a dx10 card.
