Urgent!!!-Home Networking problems

Hi to all who read this,

Ive set up a wireless internet connection at home but for some reason only 1 pc can connect to the internet at a time.

i need to know wat to do to allow both pc's to be on the internet simultaniously.
one person has mentioned something to do with a "peer-to-peer" network. but as i havent got a clue as to what this is im not gonna start messing around with random settings.
My pc can be on the internet but wen the other pc connects to the internet my connection is lost. For some reason i cant connect to the internet when the other pc is connected.
So bassically it can knock me off but i cnt knock it off if u know wat i mean.

Any help is greatly appreciated as i am kinda stupid when it comes to networking.

because if they can you might look at the settings and check they are exactly the same, and the network needs to be set to access points and infrastructure, not sure of your equipment as i had the same problem and it was only the above that caused me problems, i suggest you list the equipment you are using as although mostly the same not always so.
what OS are you using and are you using wireless pci cards or usb dongles, what make is the router? this info is helpful if help is needed, i only have experience with Netgear and speedtouch (AOL, which is a bit of a Bast*&^%)

Both pc's can connect seperately. I might have done sumfin stupid in giving them the same ip address. or does it have to be the same?

I really have no idea!!

Im using a Linksys wireless-g Broadband router with speedbooster. the model number is WRT54GS.
 
with most routers you have a page that you can logon to so you can check the settings and set security, go there separately for each computer and check that they are set the same, not much more i can say really you need someone with more experience than me, Check your settings on the logon page i hope this is of some help,

I have the same router as you.
On all the Pcs, go to start > run > type in 'cmd' and hit enter.
Now enter 'ipconfig' on the MSDOS prompt screen. Take a note of that computers IP address, and all the other Pcs. Make sure they aren't the same.

OR

Go to your routers main page, by: Open internet explorer or your browser > type in http://192.168.1.1 (is normally this, check routers manual if doesn't work) on the main page change the DHCP Server to 'Enable' which means that the router will asign IP addresses to each Pc. Now go into Control panel > network connections > right click on your network connection > go to Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) and hit 'Properties' > Change the setting to 'Obtain ip address automatically' and do the same for the DNS section, and your router should auto assign IP addresses. If this doesn't work, reset your Pc and see if it works.
Of course this is assuming you have a Windows PC!
