    Hi

I have an Abit NF7 and am running XP service pack 2 (up to date, not yet brave enough to move to service pack 3) and yet none of my USB port appear to be enhanced - i.e. hi speed/USB 2. In my device manager I have refs to Generic USB hub, Standard OpenHCD USb Host controller, USB Composite device, USB Mass Storage device and USB Root Hub. Can anyone advise how I can update drivers to USB 2. Thanks :D

    Welcome to hardwareforums PaulBilly

Have you check your BIOS for any USB related settings? (default settings do not always make sense, i have a motherboard were the USB ports are turned off by factory default!).

Before you play with device manager, if you unplug all of your usb devices it becomes a lot clearer which device you want to update... from what i remember, its the USB root hub entry that you want to right click and select "update driver".

Thanks for the tip Impotence. I'll check it out - away from home at mo, so it'll be a few days til I get round to it. It's probably been like that since I built the pc about 3 years ago!
