    Intel announces, demonstrates USB 3.0

Well, i was looking around, and it turns out that Intel is working on USB 3.0. The newest version of the USB standard is said to be backwards compatible with USB 2.0, as well it is suppose to have ten times the bandwidth of 2.0, which would put it ahead of current eSATA for transfer speeds. I thought this was pretty interesting, as well, 3gbs and (4.8) gbs are pretty far apart, but as 3.0 is suppose to be backwards compatible with the earlier standards, it will already have the advantage over eSATA. However, Intel says it doesn't plan a release until the first half of 2008, but it will probably take another year or so before anyone starts putting USB 3.0 ports on any devices in which case eSATA might already have a place in the, arket.
