I am in need for a USB external hard drive to back up work on a computer that runs windows 98. I will also need to connect it to newer machines. I had one already and it said it could connect to windows 98 but it never worked so got a bit frustrated. So I was wondering if anyone knows of any external hard drives that will work on windows 98 and they have had experience of it working on the system. Thank you Steve

Agree with RHochstenbach. I've faced the same problem some while ago and i've managed to use an external hdd on windows 98.
Wow! I never knew this until today. Thanks RHochstenbach. I have an old lappy that runs Windows 98 and backing them up is not a problem anymore.
