I just bought a USB2.0 PCI card because I only had USB1.0 in my PC. My mother board fully supports USB 2.0 as I check on the manual! I installed the card in the PCI slot and the drivers but as I hooked up my pen drive the PC freezed ! I rebooted , all is fine until I hook up another USB device this time my Blue Tooth dongle. Tried a differrent Pendrive and the same thing happened! I tried removing the card and drivers and reinstalling but the same thing happened! Im running Windows XP PRO SP2 with all the latest updates!

The strange thing is here! Im running another version of Windows XP PRO SP2 on the same machine. I booted on this version, installed the card and drivers and it worked fine! All the devices i plugged where found automatically and worked fine!

Whats can be wrong with my XP version that the USB 2.0 is not working with ?

If your motherboard supports USB2.0, then surely it will be onboard? What make and model is your board?

No yellow marks on any USB devices!

I just noted also that the USB2.0 card is working fine in Safe mode! But the problem seems to persist when logging in Normal mode of the regular operating system I use ?

right, you need to enable USB Legacy, not sure how to do this, it will probably be in your USB2 cards manual

don't enable legacy first remove all USB drivers then go into the BIOS of your pc and disable onboard USB controller, as XP could be confusing onboard USB and the USB card, it is the 1 of 2 plausable reasons for one version of XP to not reconise it and another ver of XP to see it no problem, also if it doesn't work remove all USB drivers and disable onboard USB then change the PCI slot the USB 2 card is plugged into

disable the onboard USB controller before you install your OS
