I'm trying to get into speedrunning some N64 games on Project 64 and since my gamepad I'm using right now is fine but its btns are located suboptimally and the control stick is only decent, I thought about using a different set up consisting of a Joystick taking over the functions of the N64 control stick (also possibly A+B) and a gaming keyboard for the remaining buttons. However I strongly suspect a problem. As of now whenever I have two gamepads at the same time plugged in, I can only assign one of them to one player slot at a time but can also assign any key on my built-in keyboard (laptop) to each player individually as long as it's not already in use. What I am afraid of is that the program could view the gaming keyboard as a controller seperate from the keyboard and therefore can't program my btns using both the joystick and the external keyboard for the same player slot. Also I'm uncertain as to wether or not the external one will be ummm set equal to the built-in one as if they were one keyboard, meaning the emulator wouldn't have a problem assigning keys to it. Or maybe you'd just have to disable the built-in one? I'm sorry if I annoyed you with all this text and am even more sorry if this is all lol obv to you, but I tried googling different things related to this and didn't come up with a satisfying answer. I'd rly appreciate your help. =]
