on total maximum settings (1280*1024) i am getting fps inbetween 40fps and 80fps, i took a look on toms hardware vga charts, and for the settings i have ut2k4 on, i should be getting about 150fps, so whats going on here ? i know that there test setup, cpu and ram etc are allot better than mine, but i would still be expecting up to 80-120fps from mine :\
Oh boy it's like GTA: SA all over again. Bench marks are only so good dude, they were most likely testing a simple flyby demo, which essentually pans the camera around and then moves over the terrain. It's not an accurate depiction of what kind of fps you should be getting in game. And also if they have a good Athlon proc they would get a nice boost in fps. Also concider the number of bots you're playing with at a time, what map you're using etc. There are a lot of variables to concider man
at biggining when there were less bots, i was getting higher fps, but never into the hundreds, some levels i get into the hundred, bridge of fate, it will hardly ever go below 88FPS.
Thanks, yep as I suspected they used time demos to test UT2k4, not actual gameplay. And they were using nice Corsair ram and a Athlon 4000+ Demos don't involve any character movement on your part, it's more like rendering a cinematic so the fps is really high, nothing to worry about man. If you like you can run the same time demo yourself to see how you fare but I won't bother.
