ok, i just seen a screenshot of someones score on 3d mark 01 se, they were using a geforce 4 mx graphics card, and got 45,000 on 3d mark 01 se , clock speeds was 436mhz/500mhz. how can this be done i only get 20,000 with my x800xt pe :'(
its a benchmarking program, it gives you a point score so you can see how your system matches up to other people's systems.
it tests graphics, ram cpu etc and then gives you a score at the end, so the same system but with slightly different CPU will get different scores...
Maybe the guy had a kick ass cpu and sweet ram. It's not all about gfx. But more than likely it's made up. Either way that would be a pretty crazy OC for a card like that.
yeah i was gona say it might be CPU and RAM but even with a sweet CPU and awesome RAM i dont think that score would be possible...the system would be seriously bottlenecked...
hey anything is possible guys haha i've seen voodoo cards practically explode while in like -100 degree temps that get good frames on like doom 3 haha, and its weird since they arent DX9, yea
yeah i guess, i suppose with good temps, some overclocking etc you can get a respectable score...(zRoCk you're back! well i havent seen you on here for a while)
Post the screenshot or a link perhaps? Just remember that benchmarks can only give you a rough idea of your system performance..and bragging rights. It doesn't mean anything in realistic terms.
Could have been a fluke in 3Dmark, I mean no app is perfect after all, I'm sure it's screwed up a coulple of times. If I got a score like that with a 4MX is sure as hell post it on a forum or some related site.
yeah i honestly dont care about benchmarks, they are just for bragging rights, i mean i shall benchmark this thing with my old graphics card and when i get more ram and the new card i'll do the same to see the difference, i dont care what the score is in relation to other people's computers, i just want to see what new vs old is like on my machine.
I only use benchmarks when i think something may be wrong. If i'm having problems in games or something, i'll run a benchmark to see if the problem is happening there as well. Score doesn't matter to me either; but if my card is scoring MUCH lower than someone else's, then I'll know something may be up.
