video card help

hello everyone. i have a little problem with my display adapters to play Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on my pc. i have downloaded the latest nVidia drivers, which an error report told me would fix the problem, and installed them correctly. The game randomly crashes at times, sometimes in 10 minutes, sometimes in an hour. It's an nVidia Geforce4 MX integrated GPU that came in the system. I'm planning on buying a new card soon, but i was wondering if it would fix the problem, or would the game still continue to crash?

idk how hot the temperature is, but i try to keep the pc as cool as i can.....there is also an error that comes up when the computer crashes and restarts...it says that a serious error occured, and it is a graphics problem. like i said, i have the latest nVidia drivers, so i'm stuck on what the problem could be....
 
I reckon it's because the card is too stressed out, after all it's a 4MX that came out several years ago and GTA San Andreas is probably a little too much for it. Try toning the settings down some, if you have a problem with making the game look crappy start with resolution, and work your way down, saving enviromental/character detail for last, assuming that's an option, I've never played it.
 
I'd check your temps first as the stress is probably causing it to overheat. But there won't be much you can do if its integrated and you'll need a new card.
 
Yeah, assuming it's build right into the mobo unless you want to go the PCI route you'll need a new mobo I suspect in order to upgrade my friend.
