video game cheat code question

Hi. I found a code for the pc game call of duty united offensive and it states i have to use or enter a command line parameter for the code to work.Can someone tell me what this means and how do i use a command line parameter.I have never heard of this before. from triggerman2k3 thanks..
 
Right click on the .exe file and then choose properties.

Right at the top should have the path to the exe, just add the required cheat info after it and you should be good to go.
 
also be sure to type the command properly as it is..it may require spaces..correct me if im wrong..
 
Most common command line parameter is the one used for Half Life 1.

"C:\A folder\Games\Half Life\hl.exe" -dev -console

The bits after the " marks are the cheat parts you are asked to put in.
