I just thought about this, but i use notepad all the time, real quickly like a notepad, copy and past something open and close it quickly its really nice. where if i were to use word i would have to wait a couple seconds to open and close it just to copy and paste a link or paragraph. So yeah if Vista doesn't have notepad not only will i rebel, i'll probably freak out to.
Did you ever tried [link=http://www.google.com/googlenotebook/overview.html]google notebook[/link]? Just select the text, right click and select(copy to the google notebook). You can access that data anywhere in the world as long as you can access the google...
thats a good point, i might have to look into that. i guess i could find a way to port notepad as well
Vista doesnt have notepad? Ignoring WMP its the only thing that gets thrown into the Windows soup I use.
Why would you write a text editor in Java? The extra overhead isn't worth it if you just want a small, light text editor. Just copy over the notepad program to Vista if it doesn't include it (which it most certainly will). How would you port it when you don't have the source code?
ok well my thoughts behind vista not having notepad is because its not trendy or cool. It seems like there trying to do away with the whole masters of spreadsheets thing. Anyways i use notepad most out of every app i have, i seriously couldn't do without it, in my opinion its what makes windows, lol
Well the Java thing was more a joke than anything else. There's no way Vista won't have notepad or the equivalent.
