I have Vista Ultimate installed on my PC. Motherboard Asrock 4coredual-VSTA with Intel Core 2 Duo 6320, Radeon HD2600 Pro 256 mb, 1 gig of RAM and two SATA drives 80 gb each (WD and Seagate). Every time I open My Computer my Vista freezes and hard drives stop to work, but in couple seconds they turn on. It's not only when I open My Computer, even when I watch movies my hard drives turn off and then on. what could be the problem? I even tried to install latest SATA drivers for my chipset (VIA PT880 Ultra) and it didn't help.
    Help PLZ!

from what i think your trying to say your hard drives powerdown, and when you want to access files the hard drives powerup hence a delay in performance. - this is because your pc is saving power and shutting down your hard drives, and because it takes about 5 seconds for them to powerup again there is a long delay before the files can be read.

go into your power options in control panel, go into advanced mode and look for hdd /hard drive power options, "turn off" the power savings for them.

however, if your hard drives always powerdown and immediately powerup straight away then let us know as this is a more serious problem
