Hi, i wanted to move from Windows Vista to Windows XP but i got a lot of information, i got an external disk. So my doubt is how can i move to XP without losing any documents or files and the consequences of moving (like what is going to be diferent) thanks for anyone who can help me .
First you need to back up everything to DVD or CD or what ever you like. Do you mean your PC's operating system is on an external hard drive ? Or just your files?
i wanted to back up everything to the external disk, i've done it. But i only got Vista that came with my computer, so how can i take out Vista and put XP?. Btw the external disk is safe to back up everything right? ps: i dont got XP anywhere so i ahve to download it?
Yea! you can put everything you want to keep on the external hard drive.. You will need a XP setup disk, BUT if that Pc came with Vista, You might have some problems getting all the right drivers to make it work right..
what do you mean with that?, isnt that simple like: download XP, put it in the external disk, reformat PC and then put XP in it?
I wish it was that EASY... If that will work for you then go for it.. BUT You might not be able to get your Video drivers/sound drivers/Network drivers to work.
And how can i get them to work? What happens if they dont work? sorry for so many questions, but the computer is almost new and i didnt want to crash it ;(
The best thing to do ,is to Keep Vista, BUT fine tune it.. Or you could try and install XP, But you will need to download all the Drivers for XP before hand..What is the make and model of the PC.??
what you mean with model? the parts are: TRANSCEND Jetram RAM 4GB DDR3 Graphic: Geforce N250GTS 512Mb DDR3 Processator INTEL Core2Duo E8400 Hard Drive: SEAGATE 750GB 7200RPM 32Mb SATA2
Since it is not a Brand name computer like Dell or HP, You will need to get all the drivers for your Motherboard for XP ....You do not list your Motherboard..
Google it, and see if you can get Drivers for that motherboard for XP... You will need, Video / sound and Network drivers...If you can get them, then download them and burn to disk.. then try to install XP.. good luck..
