    1.Mobo: MSI RX480 Neo2-F Socket 939
    2.BIOS version: v1.1
    3.CPU Type: AMD Atholon 64 FX60 Socket 939
    4.Memory Type: 1GB DDR
    5.Power Supply Type: 450w
    6.Operating System: N/A (new hdd)

I'm building a computer and I bought all the hardware to put it together. But when I start it up, I get an error that says 'Warning: Unknown Processor. The processor is not recognized by BIOS...'

Since the motherboard was made before the new AMD dual core processor i had bought, BIOS did not recognize it. So the next step was to flash the BIOS and install the updated version of BIOS that should recognize the new processor.

I found the correct files to update my BIOS from here
I updated it successfully, cleared the CMOS and Load Optimized Defaults from BIOS. Restarted, and STILL got the unknown processor message!

I did exactly what was described to fix this particulare problem, but for some reason it didn't work. If someone has any other suggestions please help me out with this problem. thnx

(pic of my boot screen. After pressing F1 it just says 'Missing OS')

Try it with out the optimised defaults, once it has booted successfully you can change some settings to get better performance.

otherwise get on to MSI to find out what's going on.
