WD HDD not working!!!!!!HELPPP

    i have a WD Essentials 500GB HDD,it was working until this morning on a Win8 PC but i dropped it from a height of 1 feet later and it wont read on my Win7 pc.....it connects and runs and the status light stays on but it immediately stops running but the status light stays on.....does anyone know whats wrong??...and i think i heard a faint clicking sound..or i may just be paranoid....HELPPPPPP

    Hello,
    1 feet is what? 1/3rd of a meter? Well, high enough to break the motor if the drive was in operation. High enough to break something even if it were powered down. Furthermore, if you heard a clicking sound, you can say goodbye to that HDD and any information you had on it.
