Any body using a web accelerator besides me ? I use Slipstream .. Us poor dialup users have to have some speed. I just signed up for ISPBooster and it workes pretty good.. The Only problem was I had to down grade the version to 3.2.12 instead of using 4.0.127... Version 4.0.127 has allot of problems. I am waiting for version 5.0.. What do you guys use ?
Don't use web accelerators, but switching to Firefox or [google]Opera web browser[/google] will speed things up. Opera's fast, but Firefox is open source and very customisable.
I use them both,I perfer firefox over opera.. Have you tried SeaMonkey ? it is also fast and looks like an older version Netscape.
I've tried out a couple of web accelerators in the past, albeit 5 years ago. I tended to find that they actually slowed things down, rather then speed things up. They also caused general instability too. Anything that looks like Netscape can't be a good thing
Just finished installing windows 98 on an old Hp, 366mhz with 256 mb ram, then I decided to try the web accelerator, and man what a difference.. I am using firefox and Or Netscape 4.75 and that thing is like a rocket. It is ALMOST as fast as DSL..The pages load instantly.. Not bad for dialup.
