Hello I have a long delay when I start my pc up, it pauses for about 70 seconds on the WELCOME screen, just before logging me into windows, I have an auto-login so I don't see the users, the 70s delay occurs AFTER a user login process. P4 650 3.2 HT 800 nVidia 7800GT windows xp home (I’m using lower case coz microsoft made a deal with laptop firms to stop making oem windows cds to save money, but not lower costs) Thanks, any suggestions will be appreciated
it will be all your startup programs starting up. Go to run and type in msconfig then click on the end tab. (startup) Its safe to turn them all off though I personally leave mcafee on. You can also turn some off under the services tab. Make sure you check the "hide all microsoft services" box at the bottom first.
Thanks I tracked it down to something in the SERVICES tab (well doh). Thanks for help, any ideas of CS PORT FORWARDING? http://www.hardwareforums.com/tfc-cs-port-forwarding-arrrghhh-12312/#post78681
