    hey guys, ok so i own a dell inspiron 1525 laptop, 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo T7250 processor, 2GB DDR2-667 SDRAM and a 120GB 5400 RPM SATA HDD.

To be honest i have never rele bothered with hardware until i bought my 1525, i have recently gotten into the hardware side of things. I want to buy a new HDD to dual boot vista and arch. I have looked about and i am thinking about this one:

    Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS)

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-206-SE

what do you recommend i get? i need 500gb + and a faster speed than the one i have now. also will the hdd i am thinking of getting be able to run on my 1525?

thanks in advance BTW i live in the uk so a uk based supplier would b prefered.

That HDD looks good, and the price is right. Unfortunately I can't recommend a UK-based vendor though, since I'm across the pond in the US.
