Well there was no obvious place to put this so I'll just stick it here, feel free to move it if you want Let just pretend they were all coming out the same day and each cost $400/230£ or so (fully loaded). I'd personally get the Xbox 360 as I already have a PS2 so that covers a lot of the games I'd want to play, sure they'd look crappy in comparison but the Xbox 360 would open up a lot of totally knew series and I would really like to check out Halo 3 sometime. But natually I'd want them all
Assuming both were the same price...I'd go for the PS3 myself. XBOX360 is going to be a very worthy competitor and performance is going to be good, but as well as games I want a media powerhouse, and blue ray drives and HDTV support out of the box wins it for me. I'm a PS fan though.
Doesn't the 360 have HDTV support out of the box? Even though I'm not MS fan I've got to admit they really knew what they were doing with this one, and if I had broad band Xbox Live would rock my world.
PS3 for me as I also like the idea of Blu-Ray discs, PS generally has better games as well, yeah XBOX bas the occasional Über-Game (Halo for example) but PS has a much larger games section, although that was when the XBOX first came out and PS had had a previous console and had more gaes generally, maybe it will be a bit more even this time.
Yeah I can see that too. I got the PS2 as there were way more games that I wanted on that platform. A lot of the same games were on the Xbox too but new exclusively Xbox titles really interested me enough to turn the tides, but hte 360 does sort of change that for me, and if the backward compatability things works out I'll be able to play a few of the exclusive titles that I really did like the looks of. At least MS says they'll probably inplement a HD DVD drive later on as need be.
I usually wait a few months until the prices really come down on consoles. I've always been happy with my PC gaming performance. I always consider it a better investment to upgrade my PC then buying a bunch of consoles.
PS3 all the way for me. Personally I think it's going to be more powerful than the 360 and the popularity is going to be higher than the 360 too, just the way Sony can do their marketing, PSX was more popular than the Saturn and N64, PS2 was more popular than the Gamecube and Dreamcast when it came out, PSP is more popular than the NDS. It's all down to Sony's marketing tactics, making everyone want one of their products and then releasing them en masse.
I seriously doubt Nintendo is going out of business anytime soon. They have a decent reputation and I think that will pull through for them, plus they're supposed to have some crazy controller setup, but I haven't seen it yet.
Nintendo is doing really well with the DS and the new Gameboy Micro so I don't think it has anything to worry about, it's definatly not going the way of Sega, the Revolution controller looks like an iPod Nano, it's really quite strange.
Already have a 360 pre-ordered so I chose that although I will be picking up a PS3 and maybe the Revolution as well. What I'm really waiting for theough is the Phantom .
Awesome, I'll try and get it but I doubt it will fly with my parents, I may have to do some weasling as Walmart like I did with the PS2. Maybe I'll pretend it was a prize from HWF for uh, my unwavering affection. Phantom? Little clarification needed bud ----------------- So I guess there's not much in the way of Revolution fans huh? The controller is origional but I simply don't see how it would be comfy to play with it, especially with those buttons way back near your palm And I don't really see how the analog stick will work either. Guess I'd have to hold one to find out. But I guess my real beef is most of the exclusive games are Mario/DonkyKong/Zelda/Metroid and while some of those are cool it doesn't really make the console for me.
