I want to make an animation to ultimately watch on a normal 16:9 widescreen telly. Its not an lcd telly.

The thing is I dont know what resolution will look best. Any ideas?
DVD pal is 720x576 but that works out at about 15:12. It will look funny.

I was going to just render the animation at a 16:9 ratio but I dont know what resolution will look best.

If I go overboard and render at say 2880x1620 do you think it will look noticeably better than at 1440x810? Bigger the resolution; longer the render time you see.

What about burning it. Im assuming there will be a burner which will allow me to burn to a dvd at a higher resolution than the DVD default, or is there? Am I always going to be stuck to the default DVD settings?
    Any ideas or experiances?
